January passed quickly, hasn't it? It also had been eventful, like the Lunar New Year is just three weeks after the New Year lol!

Meeting up with Puiting and Munchong plus a one-man karaoke session?!

It has been over a year since our last outing. Apparently we were to meet up at about 6pm+ at Redbox Lowyat. I arrived there before 6pm because I didn't want to miss the student price offer teehee. So I went into the k-room alone while waiting for them both to arrive. I waited...and waited..until it was past 7.30pm. I ended up being alone in the room for more than two hours. It was embarrassing, especially when the staff came in to take orders. Embarrassment. But we were considered lucky that evening. The staff mistaken that them both were here for the dinner buffet package, ~~and so we kinda like ate some food but paid a different price.~~ I only realized it the next day lol x)

After that, Puiting suggested to eat (again!) at Jalan Alor. They've never been at there before and it's been years since I've eaten at that area so we randomly chose the most convincing alfresco hawker-like restaurant which has the most diners there ahehe. We ordered typical street food and chatted. We gotta plan another outing again next time!

Sukkhuan's 20th early birthday celebration

Keiyan, John, Gaaya and I celebrated Suk's birthday a few days earlier. May she'll have a good year ahead~ We also celebrated their friend Hong Hong's 21st birthday since it falls on the same month too. Basically we celebrated it at Redbox Lowyat. That's my second time of the week :D I don't mind as we all love ~~screaming~~ singing x)

Both Gaaya and I presented Suk a rainbow-ish caterpillar~ Hope you'll like it, Suk!

And we managed to sing Melodi and Kenangan Terindah! These two songs bring back so many memories~♪

Here's Lucky #2 : It also happened at Redbox. So on that day everyone minutes before 5pm and Gaaya and I decided to stay a little longer. And our session was supposed to end at 5pm. However, we were still able to choose songs even it's after 5pm~ Of course we continued lol! In the end we sang for another 30 minutes :P. And they still haven't stop the songs yet.. was it a technical problem? Hehe.

Happy Dragon Year 2012

As usual, my family and I went back to our hometowns, had our reunion dinners and celebrated the new year together.

I managed to meet up with some of my friends I from Victoria Institution. We visited a few houses from Cheras to Sri Petaling, including Mr. Tham's house! Initially we plan to treat Mr. Tham for lunch, but Mrs. Tham made us spaghetti and fruit cocktail~ after eating a little, we still invited him to the restaurant as planned, and of course we had Yee Sang :D It's nice to have Lou Sang on the actual day, which is the Human Day .

2012 is a new beginning for me. A year that determines the path I'll be taking.

Sounds important ne..? It is!
But all I can do for now is just wait.

And now about the new skin. I never intend to change it, but the other day it so happened that my itchy hands messed up the html codes of the previous one. So there's no choice but for me to change the whole thing! :D However this may be just a temporary one... t~~hough my 'temporary' usually means a year or so x)~~

JUNE 2011

I've shifted!

After spending almost two decades of my life in Ampang, my family and I moved to a new neighbourhood, which is.. also in Ampang. Hahah~ Probably we're used to stay around this area already. I really miss the dear little apartment though.. Thank you for keeping my family safe and warm for the past 20 years ❤

Sports Day at St. John's

This was really the last Sports Day that I'll have in the secondary level.

The Sports Day in SJI is a little different from SBU though. The most significant one is probably the performance. Previously when I was in SBU, the main performance is cheer leading, while SJI's one is the brass band performance. I'm happy to be able to experience both :D

It's also the most fruitful Sports Day in my secondary life. I actually won medals. Ahaha. Even my family and friends were surprised about the fact. Of course I was elated, but I can't help feeling surprised too. Probably it's because all this while sports isn't really my thing. Teehee.

And I'm proud that my house, D' Joseph actually won first place in the Lintas Hormat catergory. We actually only started learning the choreography a day before the actual event. This is all thanks to Prabu, our junior cum choreographer. The dance routine was a combination of Malay, Chinese and Indian traditional dances. ~~Indian dance is not easy to learn at all. xD~~

SJI's Sixth Form Council Bowling Tournament at Wangsa Walk, Wangsa Maju, KL

It was a nice bowling trip! Although my bowling skills is the worst among all, the atmosphere was good when everyone cheered for their respective classes; since this is more like an inter-class friendly match.

JULY 2011

1Student 1Sport 1Malaysia Run

Basically this is based on the 1Student 1Sport policy, whereby students, teachers, principals and parents all run simultaneously at various locations in the country. This big run created "The Largest Participation Of School Students In A Run" record in the Malaysia Book of Records, with a total of 4.1 million students from 9980 schools nationwide.

Our principal, Mr. Lim Hean Hwa join in the lay as well!

Keiyan's 19th

Celebrated Keiyan's birthday at TGI Friday's Midvalley Megamall. It's a great chance for all of us to catch up on each other, since I haven't met some of them for more than a year already!

The climax of the day was during the Birthday Song part. The birthday girl was requested to stand on the chair by the TGI staff as usual, and after we sang the song, one of the staffs smeared cream on Keiyan's face! All of us can't help but laugh :D

Yenyi and I were the MCs! Had a great experience from it. And though we aimed for the gold medals, we're still happy that we came in as the second runner up. Wonderful job done there, Fencing club!! :D

National Day Celebration

Every year in SJI, the prefects, monitors and chairmen are required to carry national and state flags to kick start the Merdeka month.

Bubur Lambuk!

There's one thing about SJI - This school celebrates almost every festival. Which is a good thing, because I actually got the chance to taste bubur lambuk for the first time. This time the teachers took turns in preparing the bubur lambuk from scratch in conjunction with the fasting month. There was a temporary canopy built to serve as the "kitchen", and it's right in front of the Form 6 block. The smell of it was most tempting! As expected, the bubur lambuk tastes good!

~~Orientation Ball Night a.k.a.~~ A Midsummer Night's Dream 2011

Shh. This is known as the not-so-obvious-but-obviously-it's-obvious night that the upper 6 and lower 6 students "gathering". A Midsummer Night's Dream, that is. Due to some complications that had occurred, we had to make this as low profile as possible.

A wonderful night we had in Prince Hotel, KL, and the food and venue wins it all. ~~(though many of us agreed that 2010 was better x).~~ Nevertheless, you've tried your best, juniors! :)

We suddenly had an urge to celebrate the festival this year. Maybe it's because we just moved in LOL. So, mummy brought out the paper lanterns we had, lit it, and hung it around the car porch~

Wet Lab Training Program

Organised by the Malaysian Genomic Resource Centre, this program allows students to get a hands-on experience to conduct DNA-related experiments. It was a great experience, since we get to understand more about the procedures of the DNA fingerprinting.

Jooee's surprise birthday celebration

Seeing that everyone's gonna be busy soon, we plan to celebrate Jooee's birthday a month ahead. Ahehe.

And it turns out that Keiyan actually surprised both Joo and I by celebrating both of our birthdays. Hahaha thanks a lot~!

Brandy t-shirt - Mainly it's because I talked about Brandy ~~waaaay too much~~ in school. Hehe. It's also because 10(包) + 狗 = 19 (when it's pronounced in Cantonese). Funny and thoughtful at the same time x)

I got to meet up with Gaaya, Jooee and Jordan on 31st December. After a light lunch in Vevo in Berjaya Times Square (plus some ~~gossips~~ updates about each other), we headed straight to Lowyat Plaza's RedBox as usual.

All in all, it's nice meeting them again! It would be better still if more are to join in the fun :)

It was my first...yet the last time to actually celebrate CNY at school level. It was pretty amazing and amusing! I have never seen a lion dance performance in school ever before but it seems that SJI kinda like celebrate it with lion dance performances every year.

And I too was involved in a choir performance. Wasn't that great, but all of us on stage had fun tho x)
By the way we sang an English version of a CNY song. I forgot what the original title was LOL.

FEBRUARY 2011 - CNY Mood; Class Decoration

Before the CNY holidays, everyone were fired up and decorated their classes with red packets, red lanterns, etc.. There was an extreme CNY mood in SJI. And since my class is an all girls' class, U6Sc4 was seriously well-decorated! Many thanks to Winnie for the creative ideas and everyone that helped. :)

Tsunami Strikes

Nobody wouldn't not know about it, the 9.0 mega earthquake and tsunami which struck the Tohoku region of Japan. Frankly speaking, it was really heart-wrenching to watch the news broadcasting the chaos and the inevitable power of the nature. Not forgetting the radiation from the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant which adds salt onto the injury. And of course I'm worried about the people there too; my relative who lives in Chiba and the artists that I liked. Luckily they were all safe, but condolence to those who had lost their loved ones..

May Japan recover as soon as possible! Ganbare Nippon!~

And that day was like Children's Day (even though none of us are below 12 18 anymore x) ). All of us enjoyed the day well; in spite of being busy for nearly the entire morning.

Whoa..it's been a month since I've stepped into GTower. You can call that fast......and slow in a way.

Why fast? Because another month of my very very long holidays had passed. Sigh.

and slow? That's mainly because my job can be boring at times. Especially during lunch time, I often feel a little uneasy to interact with my colleagues. It's like there is a generation gap. LOL. Maybe it's also because I am only there for such a short period. x)

Nevertheless, they are all seriously kind-hearted. And yeah, they treated me like a kiddo ahehe. The purchasing officer that I helped, she had bought me lunch for a few times. Even my manager bought me lunch once before I leave. Most of the other colleagues treated me well too =D

It was...a short but nice day indeed.

I got to catch up with some of my long lost schoolmates LOL.

Since the ceremony ended real fast, Keiyan, Damalis, Yingtung, Jordan, Zuikhai and I went to Berjaya Times Square for a movie - How to Train Your Dragon 3D!! I watched it in 2D before, and i'm watching it again in 3D. xD That's simply because it's a really funny movie!~ and omg, Toothless is just soooo adorable!~ <3

Red clothes for redbox karaoke.

LOL. It was just a coincidence because the four of us, Keiyan, Jooee, Sukkhuan and I planned to go sing k and Sukkhuan suggested that we should wear the same colour on that day. In the end we all agreed *coughs* to wear red.

And good news! I was actually the earliest to reach Times Square. And miraculously Keiyan was the last to arrive (as Sukkhuan was exempted). Ahehe.

It has been a while since we had sung k. We did enjoyed ourselves. And we were a little crazy. x) Crazy until we had no idea on which song to sing next.

Then, we practically ~~rushed~~ ran to Sungei Wang and took sticker photos. It was indeed quite costly, but it was fun! Especially when neither of us understands what the machine says. Even though we simply pressed the buttons but at last, we still get great pictures!~

Phew. What a loOooOOoOOoOoog title.

Since it's a Saturday, when everyone is free (and wherever we go is more expensive than weekdays... =/), and coincidently it's Zuikhai's actual birthday, Keiyan, Joeyee, Nikhitha, Khoimeng and I had a day out to celebrate his birthday and Gaaya's upcoming birthday on the 10th.

We were supposed to meet there at 12.30pm, but due to some exceptional reasons I was quite late again. Sorry people! *puppy eyes*

So we had lunch at Pavilion's Wongkok Char Chan Teng. After a really heavy meal, we walked all the way to Berjaya Times Square and, and at first we planned to go for bowling, then to the arcade but in the end we just went straight to the arcade.

All of us enjoyed playing the games there (especially shooting basketballs and drum-hitting!!!) at first. Until Gaaya was picked pocket. That pickpocket should've at least return the purse to her after grabbing the money. I mean, there are so many other important yet priceless documents inside her purse other than the cash. Sigh. Everyone have to be more alert next time when going to these kind of crowded places.

But in overall we still had a great day. After not seeing each other for quite a while already. Ahehe.

I think this movie is gonna be very worth watching. Since this movie has such awesome casts~! (^-^)

My first time, changing my identity from a student to a teacher. In other words, a totally-unexperienced-plus-noobness-undefined part-timer. =/

And I taught Form 1, 2, 3 students simultaneously in a class for two hours. Really felt sorry for the students there. One of the students even told me that they kept having different tutors every week. Sad, huh?

Now I don't feel like going back there anymore.

Not this tuition centre, at least.

Suk Khuan's 18th Bash

So, Sukkhuan had a BBQ party at her place on her birthday. We were supposed to be there at around 4.00 p.m.. Pria was reallyyy punctual lol, followed by Joeyee and Gaaya, Nikhitha, Keiyan, Zuikhai and Szekitt. Justin and I were the VVIPs (sorry laa! I don't mean to be late but...there's quite a couple reasons you know...). ~~Thanks for the wet welcome, ngkeiyan.~~

Then it rained and we all thought that we need to barbecue under the shed. Luckily, the rain stopped in just a while. That was it, the real problem began. We had a hard time trying to start the fire. In fact, Suk almost used up the fire starter lol. At last, Suk's dad came for help and managed to start the fire. After eating we played some games created by Gaaya. ~~It was kind of lame but~~ by judging our expressions, I can tell that everyone did enjoyed it x).

Weeeee~ It's another annual family trip. And this time we went to Sandakan, Sabah. It's great to be there since my brother who is currently having his third year posting at that little town. So he can be our local tour guide. In short, money can be saved for other activities. LOL.

But seriously, my bro is really a pro tour guide. No joke. Who would ever prepare a full itinerary just for a 4D3N small family trip? He actually did. And he did it so precisely including highlights of Sandakan and meal times etc. Great job, bro =D.

DAY 1 (24/12/09)

Gosh my parents and I practically did not sleep the last night. We were busy packing and need to send Brandy to the pet shop to take care of him. Since our flight is as early as 8.10 a.m., we had to wake up at 4.00 a.m.. ~~Well.., I woke up later than my parents ahehe.~~

We landed at Sandakan Airport at around 10.50a.m. or so. And my bro drove us to Sim Sim, a fishermen village-like housing area where there are loads of Chinese speaking Cantonese living in wooden houses on stilts. We had a reallyyy fresh seafood noodles for lunch. The taste was normal, but the seafood was totally remarkable! Mmm.

Since bro had lectures after lunch, he drove us to the hotel. So my parents and I explored the hotel until my bro is came back to fetch us for dinner. And yeah, Christmas countdown!! We went to a special place name Balin Roofgarden Bistro and Bar. That place was, yes, on the roof top. A really peaceful and serene place to go to.

Day 2 (25/12/09)

It's Christmas Day!! To us, it's the Animal Day. That's because we went all over Sandakan in search for the orang utans, proboscis monkeys and crocodiles! I was the most excited at that time since I'm really looking forward on seeing a real wild orang utan hanging on the tree. Blame me not. I'm born in the Year of Monkey, don'tcha remember? lol.

Later on at night we went to my bro's lecturer's house for a Christmas party. Not too Christmas-ish, I'd say. But it was fun! We did caroling and stuffs like that. And I get to try the authentic Burmese laksa. Once again, yummy. I really love the broth!

Day 3 (26/12/09)

It was Places of Worship Day. After breakfast, bro drove us to a Buddhist temple up on a hill.

We visited the St. Michael's Church arter that. Such an old and magnificent church with stained glass on!

We also visited the Agnes Keith's house. Where did Sabah gets its nickname, the Land Below the Wind? From her, Agnes Keith. She wrote a book with that title. =3

The English Tea House. The waitresses there wear Frechmaid costumes!! It was nicee. The trees and plants there brought out the European kind of garden tea party. It feels especially European since there were two westerners sitting at the table behind us x).

Day 4 (27/12/09)

It was the last day. Bro brought us to the Sandakan War Memorial in the morning. Even though it's the original camp site of the prisoners of war, that place isn't scary at all. At least it isn't until I've read about the prisoners' life during captivity which is on display on the walls of the exhibition hall =/. Admission is free.

After that we went back to Sim Sim to have our last meal in Sandakan and bought some frozen seafood.

After choosing the seafood, the workers will clean and pack it.

Then, my favourite dessert time! It's some kind of dessert parlour at Bandar Indah. And the yohgurt ice cream was really a marvel. It is so smooth and tastes sweet and sour at the same time!

So that's all about my Sandakan trip. really had a great time there. This trip is more like a food trip though. And did I mention that the scallops there are really cheap? I mean, if we're in KL these scallops do sound like so expensive stuff where you can only have it in some kind of restaurants isn't it? But in Sandakan here, these fresh scallops are known as fei lo, are eaten commonly. And it's really fresh too! *mouth waters* Lol.

Also, thanks bro for everything, including the unforgettable experience you've gave me!~

Time has been practically flying.
Seriously, this year has really been a short year for me. Maybe it's because this year 2009 is my SPM year. From co-curicular activities to classes to seminars to workshops to tuitions throughout the year. Despite having such a busy year (well, not really because I did a lot of crazy stuff with my friends in school as well as in tuition ahehe), I enjoyed it. I enjoyed my last days in SBU quite well enough. I'll miss the school. Definitely.

Two weeks had passed since SPM examinations, and it's time for SMK Seri Bintang Utara's school prom joint with St. John's Instituitiuon.

The event occured at Hotel Nikko, Jalan Ampang on 18th Dec. It was memorable since it is quite rare to see all my schoolmates dressed so smartly.

The committee did hire some good fire breathers lol. I can feel the heat eventhough the table that we sat on was quite far from the stage, but it doesn't matter. Because the food is just right behind me ahaha! And oh, the food wasn't as delicious as I expected it to be from a 5 star hotel. So, I was a little dissapointed then. But then the atmosphere already covered the flaw. Everyone stepped on the dancefloor, took lots and lots of photos while chatted through the night.

I did enjoyed it pretty much. :)

Keiyan, Jooee, Gaaya, Jordan and I went to Berjaya Times Square to somewhat celebrate the end of our SPM examinations. Sadly Sukkhuan had an emergency and can't come along with us =(.

We went there mainly was to watch A Christmas Carol 3D, since we finished our last paper at around 3.30 pm.

As usual, we were a little tooooo noisy in the cinema. Ahehe. Terribly sorry to the other people around us ~~because I personally think that it's quite fun to make some sound effects while watching a movie in order to enhance the surrounding mood~~ LOL xD.

We had some snacks at Old Town before watching the movie.

SBU - Quarantined!!

SMK Seri Bintang Utara will be closed down for a week, starting from tomorrow (30th July) until next Thursday (6th August). The school will reopen on Friday, 7th August 2009.

The fact that SBU is gonna be quarantined hasn't really crossed in my mind before.

So, initially I was extremely thrilled and happy when I knew about the news. Who wouldn't be happy if you have one whole week off in a sudden?!

But come to think of it, I've started to get a little worried. It seems that 40 people from the school's hostel are suspected that they have been infected by the H1N1 virus.

And it seems that a few teachers too had been infected by the virus.

40, isn't that quite a number already?

Which means now most of the students of SBU are at risk of being infected, including myself.

Here are a few signs and symptoms of H1N1:

- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
- Sudden dizziness
- Confusion
- Severe or persistent vomiting
- Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough

We should really monitor ourselves throughout this period of time. If anyone has most of these symptoms stated above, go to the hospital or the nearest clinic.

Sanitize hands, drink more water and get more rest in order to strengthen
the immune system.

Well let's all just pray that this epidemic will reach to an end soon.

Sukkhuan and I went for the Taylor's CLIOD (College Life In One Day) under the SAM (South Australian Matriculation) program on June 1st.

We met up with Shuyi and her friends from her school. And we also met Mayteng and others too, though Mayteng joined the A-levels program ^^.

That day we attended Chemistry class and Psychology class. and I love the Chemistry teacher! She's so sweet and funny when she's explaining.

As for the Psychology class, we learned about Sigmund Freud's theory about the human mind. Hmm, interesting.

So that day, right after the diagnostic exam, Keiyan, Keiyan's bro Mark, Zuikhai, and I met up at Times Square for a karaoke session (sing k). YingTung joined us later on =).
Haha. We were a little too desperate I suppose. xDD

And yeah, we had our uniforms on. Since Zuikhai has the DotRed card, we walked to Plaza Lowyat's Redbox Karaoke. And wahaha. We were prohibited to enter as we were wearing school uniforms. GREAT!~ Then we walked back to Times Square and headed to Neway Karaoke. Luckily, Neway allows us to enter (laughs).

Neway Karaoke provided us with a spacious room and so then we sang quite comfortably!!...and crazily too ><

And we did something similar on the second week of school holidays.

The original plan was to watch 17 Again with Sabrina, Keiyan, Jason, Zuikhai and his sis. Sadly the tickets were sold out.

Since Sab and Jason were there early, so they watched another movie instead.

While Keiyan, Zuikhai (his sis did not come) and I met up later, and Zuikhai tried to get the tickets for 17 Again but we had to sit at different places so we ended up to sing k again =D.

Sigh..unfortunately Keiyan forgot to bring Mark's Neway member card (as the price will become waaaay cheaper), so we went to Sungei Wang's Greenbox Karaoke.

When we were at Sungei Wang, we saw that the Concourse were decorated with bright colours. Then suddenly Hello Kitty and her friend came out!!! OMG! the song was so cute! So was Kitty's friend. Kitty wasn't that cute because she seemed to be very skinny =O. The original cartoon type Kitty is chubby and has short legs (^-^).

But when we reached at Greenbox, there were so many people standing outside. And when it's our turn to be attended at the reception, the receptionist said that the k-rooms were fully occupied. Oh well.

So.., we went to Plaza Lowyat's Redbox. Luckily there was place for us at last! And they provided us with two drinks each and a microphone for each of us!~

Music-man Concert Live in Malaysia 2009 / Promo Tour / 33rd Birthday!~

On 7th April, Lee Hom came to Malaysia to promote his concert, which was on 2nd May.

It was held at Solaris Mon't Kiara, a quite high-end place, but a little too far from the city =X. I'm not sure about this place in the morning, but the night-life there isn't crowded, except when there is a funtion going on there like;

On 29th March 2009, the students of 5 Beta did something ~~cruel~~ memorable by dissecting a total of 12 out of 13 frogs in the Biology Lab.

Now, let's look at the steps (the 5 Beta way >.<) on how the process was done..

Step 1: Make the frogs faint

Place the frogs (2-3 frogs at a time) into the "jar"

Dab a piece of cotton wool with formalin to make the frogs faint for at least 5 minutes

Step 2: Demonstration by Pn. Rumaizah

We sounded a little too excited lol

Well..the frog is put back inside because it was still moving.. ~~I know I know this looks so cruel but~~..sigh. At least the frog isn't in pain when we dissect it.

We bought him when he was a day before he was two months old at Kampar (a day before Chinese New Year haha).

When my bro and I informed my cousin about the puppy, he was like, "Why buy a dog in the year of ox??" In fact, most of our relatives said that. hehe. So we should buy a cow instead huh?! lol~

He is a toy poodle and omg, he looked like a plush toy. Or maybe he looked like ~~Sony's new creation I-Dog~~ (ahehe according to my bro's friends when they came to visit)

And we named him Brandy. One of the reasons why we named him that is because our neighbour's dog is Guinness. Seriously, no joke!

Sports day was quite fun. I'm glad that I've enjoyed myself since it's my last year already x(.

The marching went quite well too, even though we did not win. It's okay, at least we did our best lol!! And my skin turned from tanned to super tanned =/

The photo was taken by my dad (my parents came!! ahehe since it's my last year already) when Cooke's marching squad was about to do their formation. Sadly he missed the C-O-O-K-E and the egyptian part (if you know what I mean =.=).

It's true.

I've never took part in any of the events (except for marching) before in 5 year's time.

Since this is my last year in SBU, I'm taking part in the marching event.
The practice wasn't too tiring compared to the other houses. And gladly, I'm able to catch up with the other members because they have started practicing since the beginning of the sports practice and I'm actually joining in with other Form 5s (Ammelia, Meiyin...)in just a week before sports day.

And here comes tomorrow; Sports Day.

My final Sports Day in SBU. Nostalgic memories..ne?

Anyways, I'll try to do my best in marching tomorrow with the others! Hopefully I'll be alert enough =.=;

CNY is one of the biggest event of the year to me. Because during this week I can actually get to eat lots of cookies, mandarin oranges, drink packet/carbonated drinks plus shandy (or REAL beer X]), wear new clothes, RED PACKETS (Angpow), etc.

Oh yea, the Yee Sang (a dish which Chinese eat during CNY because it symbolises good luck, prosperity and other good stuffs ahehe). Personally, I'm not really a fan of Yee Sang. But I love to Lou Sang xD. It's fun!! Lou Sang means the process of mixing the Yee Sang.

I can't wait for CNY dinners too. Not only the reunion dinner (which is on tonight), but all dinners throughout CNY while I'm at my Uncle's house because my Grandma cooks 9 Big Ghosts for us. (^^)

~~But I'm not sure whether I'm going to gamble this year too. It's only once a year. So I hope that I'm able to.~~ Lol~

By the way, I received my first red packet of the year yesterday from my Maths tuition teacher. Thanks, Sir!! Haha, an angpow before Chinese New Year. It's rare ahehe.~

Another year had passed...

WELCOME TO THE YEAR OF 2009 EVERYONE!!

I went to Bukit Bintang with my parents to countdown for the new year. As expected, there were so many people that we could hardly go near the stage in front of Sungei Wang where the artists performed that night. But we actually went there just for the fireworks haha. That's why we reached there only five minutes before midnight hehe. So we just stood in front of the Las Vegas Night Club next to Berjaya Times Square and watched the fireworks display there. Some people were even smarter; they stopped their cars at the roadside along Sg Besi (not just a few cars, but one whole stretch of cars) and from there they were able to have a complete view of the KLCC's fireworks display. How smart they can be ahehe!

Dong Zhi Festival...!

I'm quite sure that most Chinese celebrate the day. It's Dong Zhi in Mandarin and Dong Zhit or (maybe more people will know this term better) Guo Dong in Cantonese or Winter Solstice Festival in English =)). ~~But honestly I only knew it's called Dong Zhi/Dong Zhit tonight when my bro wished me ahehe. I've used the term Guo Dong all this while =/~~

Actually, I'm still unclear about this festival. I know it means to celebrate the arrival of winter because Guo Dong is directly translated as "through winter" (my vocabulary is bad sorry!). Wait a sec, winter in Malaysia??! Obviously NO. It's just a tradition has been practiced by our ancestors teehee.

And say what, I simply love Guo Dong. Food, food and food!~ LOL. It's almost like the reunion dinner on CNY Eve, but less dishes hehe. If I celebrate at my grandparents' h0use, my grandmother will cook "Nine Big Ghosts" (it has some real good meaning in Cantonese xD), from spring rolls to steamed fish to big prawns. YUM. But this year my parents and I had dinner at my aunt's house. Even though there were less dishes, there was a big, fat whole chicken. So juicy. It was just slaughtered this morning in the market *smirks*. I mean, of course the freshest food tastes best, right? (*^-^*;;)

However, that wasn't the best part on Dongzhi yet. Because the main thing is to eat the dessert. The glutinous rice balls with cane sugar or gula Melaka, black sesame paste, chopped peanuts and other ingredients as the filling. Some times people do eat these plain without any filling. It is also known as tang yuan (in Mandarin), tong yuen (in Cantonese), and kueh ee (in Hokkien). The traditional colours of tong yuen are pink and white. But nowadays it has all sorts of flavours and colours. For instance, in the TVB drama Life Made Simple, Ah Wong created the Lou Po Tong Yuen which is yellow in colour and its filling is mango. So.....creative lol.

VERY VERY UNFORTUNATELY I did not have the chance to eat it this year (my mum and I did not make it nor did my aunties *sob*). Sigh, even my bro and his coursemates made the dessert at Sabah. Oh well. Nothing much to lose ><.

Hana Yori Dango Final Screening in Malaysia

This was actually almost a month ago. I was lazy lol.

So I went for the Hana Yori Dango a.k.a. Boys Over Flowers Final screening gathering at Cineleisure Damansara, PJ. It was actually Arashi / Hanadan fan gathering + Ohno Satoshi's (a member of Jpop band Arashi) 28th (?) celebration.

Thanks to Joey, or I'll miss the chance of watching a J-movie in the cinemas lol. It was my first time haha.

I met up with Joey and the rest of the fans at the cinema entrance and there I paid my Rm30. Sigh..there's never a free lunch in this world is it?? (thinking back, it's kinda a lot of money =/). But that includes the movie ticket, F&B and merchandises (a card with Hanadan's logo and One Love's lyrics *note: One Love is Hanadan's movie theme; Ohno's photo; and a bigger card with some Ohno pictures with Take Me Faraway's lyrics).

Sadly both Joey and I can't stay until the end of the event, and we missed the cake cutting session..><;

The movie was quite good, although I never finished watching both Hana Yori Dango Season 1 and 2. Umm, at least I'm able to understand how the storyline goes. Some parts are funny, but there are also a few parts which are quite draggy..teehee.

I'm Back Home..

..this morning. Midnight lol. Around 12.30a.m. something.

Just when I reached home I felt so exhausted but I went to bed at around 3.00am hehe.

I still went to tuition this afternoon despite the 8-day trip..and my eyes felt like closing (plus I was hungry at that time so..*laughs*) when the teacher is teaching haha. I think half of my mind wasn't there, but with the food and bed lol.

Another thing is that my brother will be flying back to Sabah tomorrow. Time is really really really really flying!! I won't be seeing him until Chinese New Year 2009 TT.TT/

Anyway, all I can say about this Beijing-Chengde trip was really memorable and worth it ~~plus some angry and frustrated moments urghh.~~ (*^-^*)

More about the trip will be coming soon :)

I'm kinda like a French wannabe right now. Why? Because I've been listening to various French conversations for almost the whole night! (especially during supper just now =.=)

My bro (ah yes he's back today!) and his room mate were practising their French language in order to prepare for their French exam tomorrow. Both of them were conversing with each other and as outsiders, my parents and I were like blur people sat and watched them.

It's great to know another language, isn't it? I find it beneficial, because French is quite a wide-spoken language in Europe. Sigh, I wish to be able to learn another language as well (and right now I'm aiming at....!)

So, here comes the moment I've been longing for - HOLIDAYS! xD

But the thing is, us SBU-ians can't really enjoy the school days after exam this year, can we? Since our last paper ends today; which is the last day of school for year 2008..hmph.

Sigh..I miss playing all sorts of card and board games in school like all of us did in the previous years. Ahehe.

But somehow..somehow I have a feeling that these holidays are going to be short. Well, it is for me. If I'm not wrong I think I only have around two weeks of the real free-from-everything holidays. Though I guess others too are in the same condition as I am if they're starting their Form 5 tuition in December and I do know quite a number of them already LOL, except for that ting ting sweet. Hopefully she'll come in December. I felt like doing so many things during the holidays, but there isn't seem to be much time to do everything..

It's also sad to know that Pn. Zamzila is leaving SBU this year. Why must these great teachers leave when SPM is next year?! TT^TT

And I'll miss 4 Beta '08. Sure, it may be the dirtiest and the laziest thus the zero attendance record holder, but it was fun to be in! I don't about the others, but I did enjoy my year in this class haha!~ ~~Although half the year I was complaining how lame~~ (in a gooood way) ~~the class is~~ ahaha. It was like..a different kind of experience to me, maybe?

First of all, I am very very very very sorry for posting this so late. I've totally forgotten about it lol.

Anyway, this is about Raymond Lam's Your Love album promo tour in Malaysia at Pavilion, KL. It was..a month ago I think. (Sorry sorry sorry...)

Though I felt a little disappointed on that day.

Let me explain.

So, yeah this is it!~

There was this fan which I believe is from Hong Kong brought out such a HUGE banner and blocked everyone's view. disappointment (2)
We hoped that the person holding the banner will soon be tired and put the banner down, but that person was astonishingly strong. (>_<) More fans with banners = The view is blocked even MORE

And I really enjoyed a great homemade meal today. From muruku to mutton curry. YUM.

All thanks to Pria and her family this year!!

I was late. Everyone has gone home when I reach there, but luckily Pria's sis's friend was there at the same time. I'm not that late, eh? Lol! At least I'm not the only guest. X)

But today was great. Pria was a good host to me. Haha. Why is that?

Because she kept on feeding me with all the cookies she has in her home. There were cocoa cookies, butter cookies, custard cookies, muruku, a few other cookies and this round powder sweet (I don't know what is it called ><), I've eaten that at Gaaya's home before but I didn't care of it's name heh. Those were delicious and most importantly, it's homemade! Yeah~

Hahah and she praised herself that she's the one who cooked the nasi minyak. Then later I found out the truth was she helped her grandfather to cook it. Heeee. ~~Someone praises her own self and asked me to come and taste her rice but the thing was actually it wasn't she's the one who was the main cook.~~ LOL just joking. It was really she's the one who cook the rice under her grandfather's supervision.

The rice tastes super great with her aunty's chicken kurma and mutton curry. I tell you this, the kurma chicken is really really really really ultimately delicious. (*^-^*)

Then later we chatted, took a few photos and Pria's sis's friend (the name is Yee Ling I think. Sorry for the wrong spelling..) and I left at the same time. Hehe. I think the both of us were indirectly accompanying each other as guests. =P

Exam's over!...for the time being.

But there's still phase 2 to go for all the SBU-ians. In just like around two weeks' time..sigh!~!

Hopefully I'll be more alert at that time. I've made countless careless mistakes in Phase 1. Really stupid mistakes I've done. Why do I always maximise my mistakes instead of the opposite?? o(TT-TT)o And repeat the same mistakes again?!

I don't really like the idea of ending the last day of school with exams much. I mean, I really do enjoy playing UNO cards with lots and lots of people. It's fun~
Maybe it's because I don't really get a chance to play this kind of game (do we call this a game? idk lol!) at home, except during Chinese New Year. But UNO cards will be changed to poker cards *grins*. Though surprisingly on this year's Chinese New Year I didn't get to ~~gamble~~ at all XD.

Good thing for the PMR students, since it's their last paper tomorrow. Then they all can really enjoy themselves for at least a month. Before some of them who need to restart their tuition in December. But one month is good enough already, ne? (^-^)/

I think I haven't been this free (for a week) for at least a few months already.

One whole week. With neither tuition classes nor guitar classes. (^-^)

Most importantly is that I don't need to wake up early. Honestly, I don't mind waking up early on weekdays to go to school, but not on Saturdays - YES! I think I've been doing that for almost every Saturday ever since the beginning of the year..sigh**

LOL, so I'm glad that the tuition centre is closed for the entire week due to Hari Raya. A rest for me and for the teachers and for the staffs. A win-win situation, ne?~ hehe..!

I ~~was forced~~ to bring my camera to school today, thanks to Gaaya (who nominated me to bring the camera) and Ammelia (who indirectly supported Gaaya *hmmph!*). Ends up this morning Gaaya actually accused me for not bringing the camera! o(#>.<#)!!o

Q: Why do I bring the camera to school anyway?

A: The main objective was to take photo(s) for the civic folio...but -

Yah, as if we're handing it in today. As if we're printing the photos today. Bla bla bla.

At first we planned to take the group discussion photo before recess, so that we can print it in the library or the teachers' room. Unfortunately we were busy copying add maths notes before recess and the plan failed.

Then right after recess, we wanted to take the photo...but ends up our math teacher arrived and started the lesson before all of us can even gathered together *sigh*. I caught Gaaya in action!

可是外面下了半日雨了。。。很圆很圆的月亮都没有可能看到，也不可以玩灯笼。真的可是啊!

不理青天也好，下雨还好，大家今晚都开开心心庆祝这八月十五吧~!

We're supposed to finish the assignment for Bio, but it seems like there's no one doing it (haha~).

As usual we are busy browsing the net and listening to music, and Gaaya! I'm sure that she's up to her Barbie.com or something similar to that.

And the guys, obviously they are CS-ing. LOL!

Happy Belated 51st Birthday, Malaysia~!!!

On Merdeka eve, my dad, mum and I went to Bukit Bintang for the countdown (*^-^*).

We went there by LRT, and reached there about 10++pm I think.

At first we were standing quite far at the side the stage, when the Thai singer, James was performing. Luckily he's tall, or else we can barely be able to see him.

When he was performing halfway, it started to drizzle, so we went to look for a shade. Very honestly, I don't know who was this Thai singer at that time.

The three of us stood underneath the Monorail Track (whatever we call that hehe), along with big crowd of people.

LOTS of youngsters were street-partying that night. Wait, not to say that I'm not a youngster (*shouts* I'm a teen!!) but it's not like I have my bro with me or anything like that, plus some of them they were a little too high, randomly spraying those foamy kind of stuff to anyone they saw. We need to dodge here and there so that the spray won't hit us. And the smell of the foam..ahh it chokes me. Still the surrounding was fun!!

We finally found a nice spot right in front of Lot 10's entrance (yeap, underneath the monorail track where the Digi advertisement is, if anyone is familiar with that area). There wasn't really that pack and most of them are like families so there weren't too chaotic.

There was also a big screen showing the live performance. So we stood there and watched the artistes singing and giving out mini flags (Merdeka whattt!!) to the audiences. But one thing sure is good is that I got to know more local artistes and Taiwanese artistes, like Evan Yo. Haha, it's really true that I didn't even know he was the one who sang "Wo Ke Yi" before this until Ammelia told me about it (-.-;;).

And yes! I took quite a lot of videos on that night!

Some news about the Budget 08/09

I guess everyone knows that there's this live telecast about the Malaysia's Budget for the year 08/09 (or something like that..).

It seems that one of the topics that was brought up was about the electricity charges.

And it seems like those whose electricity bill is RM 20 or less in a month, then it will be free starting from September '08 until sometime next year.

Good news, isn't it?

Haha, but it's only for those who use less than RM20 of electricity in a month.

Congrats to those who can do that. =))

Better looking in real life?

School's started again. Sigh, holidays never seemed to be enough no? X))

And, I gave *ahem* *cough* "the transfer student" *cough* an unexpected surprise today.
Maybe it's considered as a shock instead. Lol!!

By the way, my family and I planned to go Tesco Ampang to shop for some groceries. As everyone who had been there before, we had to pass by Petronas and some newly-build shoplots. And one the corner lots there is this new Campap Store - the relatively famous stationery brand (if anyone notices it).

It was the Campap Store's Official Open Day yesterday. So when my family and I saw there were canopies, blasting music and quite a number of people there, we decided to stop by. I needed to go there anyway because I was hunting for my correction tape refill for ages already (I can't seem to find that particular brand hehe).

To me, it wasn't too crowded inside the store. Maybe it's still early, around 10.00++ a.m.. While I was busy 'hunting' for my tape refill with my mum, my dad went and surveyed the entire store. Suddenly my dad told my mum and I that there is an actor/singer at the other end of the store. Seems that he is the official ambassador for Campap.

My dad told me that the artistes's name is Andrew Tan. Sounds familiar? Why, of course!

Remember two years ago, there was this guy who managed to be the 1st runner-up of Astro Talent Quest and subsequently he won the Singing Contest representing Malaysia (I forgot the name of the contest..). That's him. Andrew Tan Say Aun a.k.a. Chen Shi An.

Dad said that he could barely recognise Andrew Tan. He said that Andrew Tan is much better looking and handsome in real life than how we see him on TV.

I curiously sneaked to the crowd and saw him signing his autograph on the inner side of the front cover of the free notepad which the staffs were distributing. And yup, I managed to take a few photos.

I hesitated to take an autograph from him at first. Finally I gathered up my courage and went for the queue. As I said, the crowd wasn't that big so it was my turn in no time. I was really nervous at that time. My hands were cold and trembling, no joke! Don't know why, this always happens to me naturally even for the first time when I got Joey Yung's autograph.

The funny part was, when it's my turn I don't what language I should speak to him. I chose to speak my so-so Mandarin to him. And guess what? He actually spoke English to me! I was like O.O!! at that moment. Then i just spoke a mixture of English and Mandarin to him hahahaha~. I just spluttered my words out. And I don't think he can hear me quite well as he repeated "Sorry?" for a few times. Embarassment (><;;).

Well at least I got his autograph even though I'm not really a fan of his. I managed to take a photo with him too! Hehe!!

p/s: Black hair suits him way better!!

I totally agree that Lin Dan's skills are really good.

Too good and swift.

LOL but I'm still happy for Lin Dan. He's a great player. Who wouldn't say so after witnessing the match? He too gave his best shot.

Another gold for China. Did I mention that China had already won 8 gold medals today?!

Congrats Lin Dan, for being the gold medallist. Guo Jing Jing too. She just won another gold medal for diving.

And absolutely not forgetting Malaysia's pride, Lee Chong Wei. Congratulations for winning a silver medal!! Omedetou!!

Hungry Ghost Festival

So many candles by the roadside. So....firey. And smoke is floating everywhere. Today's the Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival.

Just for those who didn't know much about this, most of the Chinese all over the world celebrate this festival. Uhh..if you ask me, I don't find it as a festival =.=;;.

This festival is celebrated annually on the 14th of the month of 7 in the Lunar calendar. Though coincidently, today's also the 14th of August. Coincidently.

The Chinese will burn the joss paper items and candles by the roadside for the roaming "spirits". Inspite of that, food such as the small pink and yellow coloured cakes plus some other food will also be offered.

By the way, only some of the Chinese celebrate this day by offering food and burning the joss sticks. Other chinese, like my family, doesn't celebrate it. Why? Hmm..not too sure about this. But according to the Chinese belief, if you have started celebrating it once, then you'll have to celebrate it every year. As in, putting it in your to-do list. I think it's because you had given the "people" food, so it isn't seem right not to give them for the coming year. Shoosh! This is only my point of view.

Even though my family don't celebrate it, we'll still follow the don'ts. For instance, we wouldn't want to go out at night. Oh yea, according to the belief, tonight's where the Hell Gate is open, so the "spirits" are free for tonight. Or where the "spirits" are most spiritful tonight. I don't remember, that the gate is open throughout the month or only on that paricular day. *shrugs*

None of the Chinese hawker stalls in Pudu (a.k.a. Food Street) are open tonight. So today, as I came down right after tuition (hehe yup the tuition centre is right above the street), I was like, "Why is it so empty?? Ehhh! Even the fried chicken stall is closed!" Then I saw smoke floating nearby. Joss sticks and food are on the ground at the side of the road. Ohhh. It's today. And the street; so so quiet. Lol. Forgot about it although my teacher just mentioned about it during tuition class.

But it depends on how a person's opinion about this - whether it exists.

Finally! The last exam of assessment 2 which is Biology is over..! ~~Though I did some really stupid mistakes~~ it's just that I did not read nor bother about that particular part..so I think I deserved it. Oh well. There's nothing I can do now. Just take it as a lesson lol.

And yes, I'll take a day off tomorrow. Hahaha~ means that I'm skipping school (^^;). Not that I'm lazy, but yeah..somehow it's rather true also. I am lazyyy *ZzzZZZZzzzZZ*. Ahehe..!

I'm not sure whether there are any 4 Beta-ians who are going to school tomorrow. As far as I've surveyed, there was..... none I guess. Wahahaha~~ Except for one or two students who has something to do in school tomorrow. Ahhe!

*shouts* "Any Beta-ians going to school tomorrow??" Lol.
